Free BMC guides

Sometimes you can find an unexpected behavior from someone that makes you question about if is he really the person you thought. BMC can cause this effect on you sometimes. BMC is a company that normally charges for everything it gives, so when providing something for free its an amazing and welcomed surprise.

In this post I will present you a series of books that BMC provides for free that are a precious gift

All the books are organized in a site (go to the end of this post to see the link). In this site you can find:

  • CMDB building guide: A very good book that mainly focus in how to organize a CMDB creation project. If you are planning to start a CMDB project for first time, this is a must read book.
  • ITIL best practices: Five books, each one focusing on one stage of the ITIL v3 life cycle. As a certified service expert v3 I can tell you that these books are completely useful. It doesn’t matter if you are an ITIL certified professional or not, you must read these books.
  • Viewpoint: Little mono-graphics publications. They deserve that you take a look at them.
  • Thought leadership: A free documentation site focused to IT management positions. You can find a lot of useful information. Pure gold!

Of course this documents respond to a BMC marketing strategy. They ask you to register in order to download them, and also offer the contact of a BMC sales representative. But this doesn’t degrade the high level of this documentation.

A last time word: I recommend to download it all and transfer it to your iPad or favorite e-book reader.

Download the books…
